Seven (7) teams namely: Kerr Mama FC, Kerr Chebo FC, Kerr Dekodeh FC, Kerr Demba FC, Pakau Saloum FC, Pakau Njogu FC and Fass Omar Saho FC have lined up for the annual Kerr Mama village Nawetaan organized by the Kerr Mama Sports Committee in the Upper Niumi District of the North Bank Region.
The tournament which will be played in memory of the late Uncle Badou Jasseh, former chairman of the Gambia Referees Association, is sponsored by Baboucarr Jallow, a native of Kerr Mama village, but who is currently residing in the United States of America, where he is refereeing.
The opening game of the tournament will kick off tomorrow, Saturday, at the Alagie Gabi Sosseh Football field in Kerr Mama village between Kerr Chebo FC against Fass Omar Saho FC, and it is expected to be graced by high-profile sports personalities.
The sponsorship package for the tournament is D15, 000 and the winner is expected to receive a cash prize of D8, 000 and a giant trophy at the end of the tournament, while the runner up will receive D5, 000.
