7 Saudi investors due in Gambia

A delegation comprising seven businessmen from Saudi Arabia are due in The Gambia on 7 April to explore possible areas of investment in various sectors in the country, according to Solo Marreh, a veteran Gambian politician.

The visit will accord the visiting investors the opportunity to support the people of the country and President Barrow especially in the full implementation of his National Development Agenda.

 The delegation will include H.E. Sh. Nasser Shabib Omar Aljabor ALnoaimi Bahrain, a member of Royal family of Bahrain and the leader of the delegation, H.E. Mr. Chaudhry Ibar Aziz ,Chairman Chaudhry IBAR  and Sons Management Company in Bahrain, Chairman Avion  Global Company and Chief Executive Officer DAR AL  ARAB Diamond  Company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and adviser to the Royal  Family of Saudi Arabia.

During their stay, the Saudi delegation is expected to meet key stakeholders in various sectors and sign a Memorandum of Understanding to enable them explore potential opportunities in various areas such as tourism industry, energy and power projects, seaports installations, agricultural schemes, free zone industries, sugar cane, juices, fish storage, and cement factory.

However, the primary focus of the visiting delegation is the areas of oil and gas refineries and petrochemical complex.

The visiting investors will be in The Gambia courtesy of  the veteran Gambian politician.

Mr. Marreh while speaking to journalists ahead of the visit, thanked Allah and the government of The Gambia under the leadership of President Adama Barrow for approving the proposed visit to the country by Saudi investors.

He expressed optimism that the business visit would open up avenues in the country’s march towards greater development. 

He acknowledged the support of all who played a part in making the planned visit a reality.

Marreh also called on all Gambians to open up to business investors, despite the differences in political ideology and support the development agenda of President Adama Barrow.

On peace and stability, the renowned politician underscored the importance of peace and challenged all to jealously safeguard the country’s peace; a value it has been known for.
