Six officials of Gambia Groundnut Cooperation (GGC) were recently
arraigned at the Banjul Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Samsideen Conteh,
charged with stealing.
The particulars of offence stated that Ousainou Nyang, Sulayman Njie, Sanneh Manneh, Momodou Gassama, Sedia Sanyang and Falleh Tamba, on 2 December 2014 at the Gambia Groundnut Corporation in the city of Banjul, stole ten litres of groundnut oil, five nylon bags of groundnut and one bag of groundnut seeds from Gambia Groundnut Corporation valued at D8,439.8, being the property of the said company, and thereby committed an offence.
Each of the accused persons was granted bail of D10,000 with a Gambian surety to swear to an affidavit of means.
The case was adjourned to 27 January 2015, for hearing.
