41-year-old man appeals for medical treatment assistance

Modou Mbaye, a 41-year-old Gambian residing in Serekunda is seeking assistance for overseas medical treatment following an electric accident that burned and that affected both his hands some ten years ago.

Mr. Mbaye also suffered injuries on his lower limb and part of the head when the accident occurred and was admitted at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital in Banjul.

A report from the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital indicated that daily dressing and theatre deloridemit were conducted on the affected areas and Mr. Mbaye went on to Senegal for further management. He has now developed contracture on both hands affecting mostly the left hand.

According to the medical examination report, Mr. Mbaye is stable but all fingers including the palm of the left hand are all deformed. The report indicated that the hospital does not have the best facilities to manage this complications and therefore it has been recommended for him to travel overseas for treatment.”

“I am pleading to everyone to assist me to get the best of treatment that could heal my hand and all affected areas,” he said.
