4 charged for disobedience to lawful order

Wandi Sonko, Lamin Jatta, Ansuman Kinteh and Sherifo Jatta were recently arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates' Court for disobedience to lawful order and willful damage to property.

The accused persons, all of whom maintained their innocence to the charge, were granted a court bail each in the sum of D50, 000, with one Gambian surety each.

On count one, the particulars of offence read that, the four accused persons in the month of April 2010, at Jabang Village in Kombo North, Western Region, willfully and unlawfully destroyed the High Court order, which was signed by Fatima Singateh.

Count two indicated that, the four accused persons, in the same month and year in Jabang Village, Western Region, willfully and unlawfully damaged the peg of Jabang Housing Estate, being the property of Social Security.

Principal Magistrate Effim adjourned the case to 25th May for hearing.
