3DGam and 3DGamGlobal, a foundation setup in the United Kingdom last September by like-minded individuals who want to radiate goodness in mankind with a plain progressive agenda with no ifs or buts was on Saturday 28 July launched at the Gambia Radio and Television Services complex. The day also witnessed the launching of a human rights project by the organisation.

3D, which stands for ‘Decisions Determine Destiny’, operates as an apolitical, non-religious, and non-ethnic/tribal or section based foundation.

Lamin Jawara, homeland general for the organisation said the objective of the foundation is to provide support for education, economic, social and or technological disadvantaged people/communities.

Guest speaker Dr. Baba Galleh Jallow, executive secretary of the Truth Reconciliation and Reparation Commission said decisions government make today will determine Gambia’s future and as such it is important that they carefully think about the decisions they make.

Dr. Jallow pointed out that the New Gambia is a Gambia of human rights, human responsibilities and a Gambia of beautiful minds.

He added that if “we” respect human rights “we” will live in a peaceful environment of tranquility and that would create creativity, saying Gambian people will also live in an environment that enhances progress, moves forward and empowers society.

He noted that as a government, if they do not respect human rights they are bringing conflict into the society, saying during Jammeh’s rule, people lived under all forms of rights violations.

Dr. Jallow stated that nobody’s right should be violated in the present or in future because all people are all born with human rights.

He further said that right equals to responsibility and if people assume their right to freedom of expression they should respect everyone else’s right to freedom of expression.

He said they at the TRRC are ready to cooperate with 3DGam and 3DGamGlobal as far as human rights project is concerned.

Ebrima Sillah, Minister of Information Communication and Infrastructure thanked the founder of the foundation for the initiative. He assured members of 3DGam and 3DGamGlobal that the government of The Gambia is committed to the respect for the rule of law and all other fundamental rights.
