3 Youth charged with conspiracy at Kanifing Court

Police prosecutors have slammed three youth with three-count charges of conspiracy, house breaking and stealing before Magistrate Fatou Darboe of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court.

 The trio namely, Kebba Mbaye, Sering Jallow and Ebrima Jammeh where charged for conspiring among themselves and commit a felony on or about 4th October, 2018, at Manjai. They were also charged for breaking into the house of one Phoday M. Jaiteh with intent to commit a felony.

 Count three indicated that the trio on the same date and place broke into Phoday M. Jaiteh’s house and stole one LG flat screen valued D25, 000; a receiver valued D3, 000; 1,100 dollars equivalent to D54,395; 200 Euros equivalent to D11,426; 150 Swiss Franc equivalent to D7,270.50; 100,000 CFA  equivalent to D8,385 and D4,800 which total to D109,479.50.

 They all denied any wrongdoing and were subsequently granted bail in the sum of D200, 000 with two Gambian sureties each. Magistrate Darboe ordered that the sureties should swear to affidavits of means and deposit their national identity cards to the registrar of the Court.

 The trio were subsequently remanded until 22nd October, 2018 when the prosecuting officer, Sergeant 2717 Jallow is expected to call his witnesses.
