Friday, October 09, 2009

At least twenty three students recently graduated in the field of computer science at Saint Charles Lwanga Youth Skills Centre in Faji Kunda.

Addressing the graduating students, Fr. Francis Eyo MSP said "when they were going to school they gave them three months and many came back like domes".

"Others would study hard during the summer holiday and would do well. No knowledge is a waste. We want to make this centre a year round centre of learning. How I wish facilities would be opened to all," he said.

According to him, they offer courses ranging from hairdressing, dry cleaning, computer studies and welding for those who want to learn and practice them. Fr. Francis urged youths to love learning for, as he put it, knowledge is power.

John Gomez, the Chairman of the skills centre urged the students to work hard as they are the future leaders.

Obana, a student spoke on behalf of the graduating students urged others to come and be part of the training.

Mr. Hammah, a tutor at the centre encouraged parents to register their children in the centre.
