2 presidential candidates in Senegal lose their deposits

Two of the presidential aspirants in Senegal have lost their D2.5 million deposits after they each failed to poll 5% of the total votes cast.

Madike Niang and Issa Seck have both become victims of the law that states that the presidential candidate must deposit the said amount before vying for election. Also, a candidate must secure 53,000 signatories in seven of the 14 regions before running for presidency.
