Samba Sira in the Lower Fulladou West District of the Central River Region
(CRR) were reported to have drowned at the Sapu River in the early hours of
Friday March 30, 2018, after their canoe capsized, The Point has been informed.
Our sources in CRR added that the duo went on their daily fishing activities. “They got drowned on Friday around 2 a.m. in the morning. However, Mr. Krubally’s body was recovered on Saturday while Mballow’s was recovered on Sunday around 1:30 p.m. in the afternoon,” a native of the village said.
Speaking to The Point, Bukary Bah, a native of Kerewan and a friend to both deceased described the incident as sad, taking into account that they were the breadwinners of their families. “We supposed to go together for fishing on that faithful day. But my bicycle had a problem so I could not make it up,” he emotionally told our reporter.
