1ST ATAF Media Engagement training on Taxation wraps up in South Africa

The 1st African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) Media Engagement and Training was Wednesday March 28, 2018, wraped up in Pretoria, South Africa.

The training that brought mainly businessmen and writers was organised by ATAF Secretariat.

According to the organisers, the training focused on pertinent tax issues facing the African continent as a result of global changes as well as the impact these changes have on local taxation. 

The organisers also indicated that throughout the training, experts guided participants on issues such as the outcome and implementation of the base erosion  and profit shifting project, inclusive framework and explore opportunities for African countries in mobilising domestic resources through innovative tax, fraud prevention and education campaign.

The event looked at how Africa is addressing priority tax issues at the local and international scenes. 

The topics treated during this three days training included Taxation and State Building; what in it for Media?  Trends in Taxation; What Matters for Africa?  Reporting on Tax Matters in African Media; and the Opportunities and Challenges among host of issues.
